SKETCHES FILM PROJECT EXHIBITION: BEACON ARTS CENTRE

DANCE EXHIBITION FEATURES ICONIC GREENOCK LOCATIONS LAUNCHES MONDAY 29 NOVEMBER

Scottish choreographer Katie Armstrong is set to release a new digital dance project this month at The Beacon Arts Centre called SKETCHES Film Project.

During lockdown in 2020, the Glasgow based dance artist met with different groups from the Beacon Arts Centre via zoom.  During these sessions Katie learned about local places, which are iconic and meaningful to the local community.  A series of short intricate dance duets were then captured through film in those locations and will be released as a limited exhibition at The Beacon Arts Centre from Monday 29th November to Friday 3rd December. Audiences are encouraged to come and visit the exhibition to see stunning footage capturing beautiful drone shots over the James Watt Dock Crane and Marina, scenes from within the iconic Tobacco Warehouse and epic views over Greenock from Belville Community Garden.

The film project is ran in partnership with Beacon Arts Centre, and through support from Creative Scotland.

Visit the exhibition from 10-5pm at The Beacon Arts Centre, Custom House Quay, Greenock PA15 1HJ
